Joyce Marie Detra

KEWANEE- Joyce Marie Detra, 81, of Kewanee, died at 6:45 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at Kewanee Care Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens, rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

She was born on May 9, 1937 in Annawan, the daughter of Charlie and Alta Mae (Klobles) Wolf. She married Larry E. Detra on March 2, 1957 in Lyndon, IL. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Floyd, Howard, Dale and Don Wolf and two sisters, Dorthea Paxton and Betty whom died in infancy. She is survived by two sons, Curtis Eugene (Annette) Detra of Mineral and Kevin Lee Detra of Port Byron, IL, a grandson, Andrew Curtis Detra of Macomb and a step granddaughter, Ronda Swearingen of Mineral.

Joyce had been a homemaker and enjoyed doing artwork.
