KEWANEE- Kimberly Lee Willson, 47, of Kewanee, died at 3:49 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the home of her mother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. The Very Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services and private inurnment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the Kimberly Willson Benefit.
She was born February 25, 1971 in Galesburg, Il the daughter of Kent and Wanda (Taylor) Willson. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Wanda and Paul Yakes of Kewanee, her three children, Miranda Willson of Galesburg, Mirissa (Brandon) Hawkins-Hill of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jacob Quinn (and his fiancee’ Alia Tyler) of Davenport, IA, five grandchildren, Hannah, Isabella, Raeonna, Rylee Ray and Gianna, and three siblings, Tammy Cumpston of Texas, her twin sister, Kenna (Donovan) DeMay of Galva and Duane Willson of Huntsville, Alabama and several nieces, nephews and step siblings. She was preceded in death by her father.
Kim had attended Galva Schools. She had worked as a CNA for many years at various health care facilities in the area. She was always proud to have worked to care for her children and of the care she was able to offer to the residents she cared for. She enjoyed doing bingo, fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
