Leslie Christine Sadilek-Sampson

GALVA – Leslie Christine Sadilek-Sampson, 65, of Galva, died at 2:10 a.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 16 at the Galva Congregational Church. Pastor Bob Curry will officiate. Later her ashes will be committed in a traditional Hawaiian ceremony in Hilo, HI. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.

She was born August 4, 1952 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of Frank and Leila (Lorton) Sadilek. Survivors include her daughter, Francesca Sadilek-Sampson of Urbana, IL, her sister, Lynda Guinnee of Galva and two uncles, James Sadilek of Carson City, NV and James White of Atwater, CA. Also surviving her is a nephew, Cory Guinnee of Gilroy, CA and a niece, Michelle (Guinnee) Jones and their children, Alexandria, Samantha, Cameron and Lacey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Bill Sadilek and two aunts, Doreen and Sherrell.

Leslie was raised in Hilo, Hawaii and graduated from Hilo High School in 1970. She found Hawaii to be her true home. She danced Hula, Tahitian and Maori professionally and enjoyed dancing Hula in Edith Kanakaole’s Halau. She later became an accomplished cosmetologist and managed several salons in the California Bay area. Leslie thoroughly enjoyed her work and reading and especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter and all of her family. She truly loved family celebrations.
