Linda K. Gardner

KEWANEE – Linda K. Gardner, 70, of Kewanee, died at 7:44 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Toulon Health Care Center.

Cremation will be accorded and no services will be held at this time. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born January 12, 1949 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Kathrine (Sharp) Piester. She married the love of her life, James “her Jimmy” Gardner on July 22, 1970 in Arlington, VA. Through all life’s ups and downs they met together as partners.

Survivors include her special friend, Crystal Fuller of Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Linda worked for years as a waitress at Waunee Farms Restaurant and for the activities department at the Kewanee Care Home. She had also been manager of Suzi’s. She enjoyed reading palms and cards for people. Her favorite color was pink, and she loved to dance and listen to music and especially enjoyed spending time in her pool. Linda was very generous and was always ready to help those in need, whether with her slim resources or with her honest guidance. She was direct but always loving.
