Marian I. Leaf

KEWANEE – Marian I. Leaf, 90, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully at 1:45 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20 at Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee. Rev. Linda Winkelman and Linnea Gustafson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 19 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee and additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.

She was born January 1, 1927 in Kewanee, the daughter of Eli and Vera (Clong) Ratliff. She married Richard W. Leaf on November 11, 1945 in Galva and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2008. Survivors include two daughters, Ann (Jim) Herriot and Jean (Jerry) Grebner, both of Kewanee, a son, Bill (Janelle) Leaf of Kewanee, five grandchildren, Monica (Darrin) Nelson, Matt Jenkins (Deann Schweitcher), Emily (Jon) DeBord, Karyn (Randy) Carton and Rick (Sarah Sal) Leaf, eight great grandchildren, Morgan Stewart, Kyle Dockery, Lilly DeBord, Josie DeBord, Parker DeBord, McKenzie Carton, Katlyn Carton and Lolabelle Leaf and three great-great grandchildren, Brooklyn Shue, Malaigh Stewart and Kinleigh Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Marian graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1944. She had worked as a medical transcriptionist at Kewanee Public Hospital for 24 years, retiring in January of 1989. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading and traveling.
