Marilyn S. Crater

KEWANEE – Marilyn S. Crater, 76, of Kewanee, died at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 22 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Jordan Knight will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

She was born September 4, 1942 in Chicago, the daughter of Forrest and Juanita (Buckett) Radenbaugh. She married Joseph L. Johnston Sr. in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1994 and then later married Paul Crater in 2001 and he preceded her in death in 2006. Survivors include her children; Verna Hoffman of Kewanee, Bernice Theresa Schwartz of Florissant, MO, Pearl Crow of Burlington, IA, Vickie Grigsby, Joseph Johnston Jr. and William Johnston, all of Kewanee and Patty (Charles) Armour of Vandalia, MO, a brother, Arthur Prusener of Wisconsin, two sisters, Phyllis Becker of Largo, FL and Beverly (Richard) Prusener Roehr of Wisconsin, fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren with one on the way and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald, a sister, Eunice Smith and her daughter, Sherri.

Marilyn was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She also enjoyed traveling, puzzle books, playing cards and Yahtzee and listening to country music.
