Martha A. Workheiser

KEWANEE – Martha A. Workheiser, 81, of Kewanee, died at 8:43 a.m., Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Betty’s Garden Memory Care in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Bob Curry will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

She was born January 15, 1938 in Kewanee, the daughter of Oscar and Thelma (Cowell) Stoner. She married Floyd J. Workheiser on May 12, 1956 in Kewanee. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, two sons, Tim (Genia) Workheiser of Peoria and Doug Workheiser of Kewanee, her daughter, Lisa (Larry) German of Kewanee, three brothers; Doyle Stoner of Toulon and Danny Stoner and Tony (Tammy) Stoner, both of Kewanee, two sisters, Patricia Bennett of Silvis and Della (Albert) Gustaitis of Monroe, IL, eight grandchildren; Eric, Jason, Taryn, Jessica, Andrew, Amber, Michelle and Amanda, thirteen great grandchildren; Haley, Erica, Catherine, Ashton, Keishan, Gemma, Lilly Ann, Brianna, Jazmen, Miguel, Tony, Chloe and Jayce and two great-great grandchildren, Axton and Kayani. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Jay, Jack, Harold and Melvin, five sisters; Rosie, Barb, Doris, Joyce and Sylvia and her daughter, Dawn Marie Workheiser.

Martha had worked at Boss Manufacturing, Empire and Boss Balloon Factory. She enjoyed going to casinos and crocheting.
