Mary Ann "Dolly" Bishop

KEWANEE – Mary Ann “Dolly” Bishop, 73, of Kewanee, died at 6:05 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of her Life will be held from 1:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19 the Kewanee Elks Lodge. Private inurnment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 29, 1945 in Kewanee, the daughter of Lawrence and Patricia (Lansbarkis) Erdman. She married John Bishop July 11, 1967 in Chiefland, FL and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1979. Survivors include her children; Doreen (James) Kida and Michael Bishop, both of Kewanee, Cheryl Bishop and her significant other, Todd Sewell of Sheffield and Wendy (Jesse) Peed of Kewanee, grandchildren; John Hufnagel, Heather Shoen, James (Samantha) Kida Jr., Chase Kida, Jacob Kida, Rickelle (Gregg) Rice and Jesse Peed Jr. and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth Erdman, two sisters, Judith Nelson and Kathleen Quimby and two great grandchildren.

Mary had worked as a retail associate at Wal-Mart for several years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, doing puzzle books, birdwatching and watching black and white movies. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
