GALESBURG – Mary Jo Cleary-Hasley, 70, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at 7:14 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Karen Martin will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
She was born October 9, 1946 in Galva, the daughter of Clyde and Norene (Anderson) Nichols. She married Danny Cooper and later married Clifford Cleary and is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul Hasley. Also surviving her are four daughters, Tangee (Pat) Frazier of Quincy, Crystal (Joel) Emerich of Phoenix, AZ, Jollene (Casey) Gunlikson of Williston, ND and Kelli Jo Cooper and her fiancé, Jeff McFadden, of Galesburg, her brother, Larry (Joyce) Nichols of Peoria, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford and children, Marlene and Kenneth Cooper.
Mary Jo attended Galva schools and Brown’s Business College. She worked for many years as a CNA at Marigold and Cottonwood Nursing Homes and most recently as a crossing guard. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards.
