Nancy C. Morey

KEWANEE – Nancy C. Morey, 86, of Kewanee, died at 9:21 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and private graveside services and inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in rural Annawan. Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Historical Society or to the Kewanee Animal Shelter. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born December 5, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of Keith and Barbara Webster. She married Orville Ray Morey on October 5, 1951 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2014. Survivors include her two sons, Mark Morey and Miles (Karen) Morey, both of Kewanee. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in mechanical engineering. She was a homemaker and had worked as a draftsman for the City of Kewanee working alongside the city engineer. She also worked at Kewanee Boiler and alongside her husband in the family business. She was affiliated with the Fairview United Methodist Church in rural Annawan.
