Nellie M. Larvenz

KEWANEE - Nellie M. Larvenz, 99, of Kewanee, died at 12:40 p.m., Tuesday May 28, 2019 at Kewanee Care Nursing Home.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Greg Olson will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army.

She was born November 20, 1919 in New Sharon, IA, the daughter of Pearl and Daisy (Hiatt) Stanley. She married Clifford Lee on November 30, 1938 in Montezuma, IA and he preceded her in death in 1962. She later married Willard Larvenz on July 18, 1964 in Moline and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Jerry and Jim Lee and a brother, Ernest Stanley. She is survived by two daughters, Carol (John) Lane of Elmira and Pat (Randy) Crofton of Oregon, IL, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and a step-daughter, Victoria Raychen.

In her early years, Nellie had lived on a farm and then later worked at the Bethany Children’s Home. She enjoyed reading and flower gardening.
