Rahija "Mary" Naseef

KEWANEE – Rahija “Mary” Naseef, 89, a resident of Remarkable Healthcare in Ft. Worth, TX, formerly of Kewanee, died at 11:35 p.m., Monday, September 2, 2019 at the home.

Cremation will be accorded and graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee. Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck will officiate. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 15, 1930 in Kafarshoba, Lebanon, the daughter of Khalil and Mariam (Farhat) Jarada. She married Joseph Naseef on August 27, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1969. Survivors include her son, George (Sandy Herridge) Naseef of Fort Worth, TX, two granddaughters, Jessica (Ron) Naseef Applegate and Andrea Naseef and three great grandchildren; Foster and Cason Applegate and Avarii Morrow. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four step-sons; Fred, Herman, Louis and Don.

Mary was of the Catholic faith and had worked as a seamstress at Novak Cleaners in Kewanee and had been a member of the Red Hat Society.
