STANFORD – Richard P. Lazoen, 74, of Stanford, IL, formerly of Kewanee, died at 8:35 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Private graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. There will be no visitation and the family requests that there be no flowers. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
He was born October 18, 1944 in Kewanee, the son of John P. and Lucille I. (Stubbe) Lazoen. He married Brenda H. Pope on June 20, 1970 in Coffeen, IL. Survivors include his wife of Stanford, two sons, Patrick Lazoen of Peoria and Paul Lazoen of Bloomington, two daughters, Laurie (Mike) Brand of Stanford and Wendy Lazoen of Pekin, a brother, Larry (Anna) Lazoen of Farmington, MO, his sister, Marianne (Dave) Moser of Annawan, five grandchildren; Austin, Megan, Alexis, Lindsey and Maggie and two great grandchildren, Remington and Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a daughter in infancy.
Richard graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1962. He had worked as a custodian for Olympia School District in Stanford for almost 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
