Rickey J. "Rick" Ford

GALVA – Rickey J. “Rick” Ford, 67, of Galva, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Bob Curry will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Per his wishes his cremains will be scattered in the Rocky Mountains. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

He was born May 30, 1949 in Peoria, the son of William and Dorothy (Miller) Ford. Survivors include his girlfriend and companion of 19 years, Jennifer of Galva, two sons, Erik of Pueblo, CA and Seth of Galva, two daughters, Rheagan and Katie, both of Galva, his brother, John of East Peoria and three grandchildren, Cadience, Evan and Bransen. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bill and a daughter, Ursala.

Rickey graduated from Kewanee High School in 1968. He served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a laborer for Local Union #538. He enjoyed socializing, gardening, camping at Allendale Conservation Club, riding his Harley Davidson and he especially enjoyed his grandson, Bransen.
