Robert A. Huber

Robert A. Huber “Bob” died peacefully at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility on June 30th in Bettendorf, IA at the age of 76.

Bob is survived by his four children; Ed Huber (Stacey) of Moraga, CA, Penny Hoker (Jeff) of Dixon, IA, Molly Hickerson (Sean) of Orion, IL and Carrie Vaughn (Chris) of Washington, IL.  He also had 8 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by wife, Bonnie, of Peoria, IL.

Bob was born on July 18, 1940 in Kewanee, IL to John and Emily Huber. He graduated from Kewanee High School in 1959 and served in the US Army. He married Bonnie Peterson in 1963 and moved to Peoria, IL, where he lived most of his adult life.  They were married for 48 years until her death in 2011.  He was employed by Dental Arts Laboratory and Methodist Medical Center and was an active Mason, belonging to Schiller Lodge in Peoria.

Bob's world revolved around his family. His heart was constantly tethered to the well-being of his wife, children, and grandchildren. Bob was a warm, compassionate, loving soul who never met a stranger. He welcomed everyone into his life with a warm smile and a firm handshake.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Galva Cemetery on July 6th where military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. A celebration of life service will follow at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf, IL from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Iowa Masonic Music and Memory Program, 2500 Grant Street, Bettendorf, Iowa 52722. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.
