Robert M. "Bob" Gunther

KEWANEE – Robert M. “Bob” Gunther, 71, of Kewanee, died at 9:50 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of his Life will be held at later date. Memorials may be directed to the Bob Gunther Memorial Fund. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born August 21, 1946 in Norwalk, CT, the son of Robert and Barbara (Hayes) Gunther. He married Judith Henkins on June 17, 1977 in Kewanee and she preceded him in death on August 12, 1993. Survivors include his son, Robert Gunther III of Kewanee, his daughter, Candice Reuther of Kewanee, two sisters, Evelyn Leon and Valerie VanSickle, both of Michigan and two grandchildren, Jayden and Corbin Reuther. He was also preceded in death by his father, Robert, his mother, Barbara Leon, a son, Richard and a daughter, Corina.

Bob had worked as a mechanic and did automotive body work. He enjoyed pigeons, fishing, working on cars, attending car shows and he especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
