Romelle J. Hintz

KEWANEE – Romelle J. Hintz, 87, of Kewanee, died at 9:48 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Linda Winkelman will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Wethersfield Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or to the Henry County Humane Society.

She was born October 10, 1930 in Kewanee, the daughter of Clifford and Florence (Lundgren) Larson. She married Paul M. Hintz on July 1, 1951 in Kewanee. He survives of Kewanee, as does a daughter, Deborah (Michael) Filipiak of Bloomington, IL, a son, Gary Hintz of Bloomington, IL, a son-in-law, Richard Nestrick of Normal, IL, seven grandchildren, Erik, Scott and Justin Filipiak, Sara Hale and Ashley, Bradley and Kyle Hintz and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Cherie Lynn Nestrick and three sisters, Jean Craig, Rosalie Andris and Donna Wahlbeck.

Romelle graduated from Kewanee High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and had also worked for Sears and Gibson Greeting Cards. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and had also been a Jayceette and member of a Women’s Club. She enjoyed traveling in their RV and wintering in Key West, FL from 1988-2015 and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
