COLONA – Rosemarie E. “Rose” Taylor, 76, of Colona, formerly of Kewanee, died at 5:15 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus in Silvis, IL surrounded by her family.
Cremation will be accorded and inurnment at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee will be held at a later date. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
She was born February 10, 1942 in Schweinfurt, Germany, the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Mock) Pfannschmidt. She married Robert R. Taylor Sr. on December 22, 1961 in Konigshofen, Germany and he preceded her in death on January 22, 2009. Survivors include her children, Brenda (John) Wiggin, Audrey Johnson (Jeff Muckey) and Rosie Walker, all of Kewanee, Robert (Michelle) Taylor Jr. of Brimfield, Michael (Jennifer) Taylor of DeKalb, IL and Diana (Jeff) Carman of Colona, fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and her cousin, Karl (Ann) Mock of New Jersey. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Rose loved her garden, flowers and nature, especially daisies. She was an avid reader and loved to read and write poetry. She loved her crime television shows and HGTV. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing her penny and quarter slot machines. Rose also loved collecting many things through the years but her Santa Claus’s were her favorite and she had an extensive collection. When her grandchildren would tell her “I Love You,” she would always respond with, “Love You More.”
