Thomas F. "Tommy" Boss

CHARITON, IA – Thomas F. “Tommy” Boss, 65, of Chariton, IA, formerly of Kewanee, died at 6:31 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Legacy Lodge in Chariton, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the services at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

He was born April 22, 1952 in Kewanee, the son of Charles T. and Betty Ann (Browning) Boss. He married Bonnie Gwinn on August 19, 1995 in Kewanee. Survivors include his wife of Chariton, IA, two step-daughters, Shannon (Mark) Hornby of Van Meter, IA and Jennifer (Don) Skinner of Corydon, IA, two brothers, Jim (Barb) Boss and Dave Boss (Deb Newman), both of Kewanee, his sister, Mary Boss of Indianapolis, IN, five step-grandchildren, Autumn, Hunter, Zac, Blake and Shelby, nieces and nephews, Nick (Miranda) Boss of Alexis and Jake (Kathy) Boss of Kewanee and great nieces and nephews, Avery, Amelia, Alison, Mercedez, Bentley and Audi. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Boss, a sister, Sharon Boss and a step-granddaughter, Melanie.

Tommy worked as a machine operator at Great Dane in Kewanee for 37 years. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, traveling, socializing with friends at local bars and especially spending time with his family.
