BALLWIN, MO – Verna M. Hand-Connall, 93, of Ballwin, MO, formerly of Galva and Galesburg, died on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Meramec Bluffs Nursing Home in Ballwin, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Chet Travis will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Knox County Humane Society.
She was born October 30, 1925 in Galva, the daughter of Arthur and Hilda (Clucas) Johnson. She married Clarence “Gene” Hand on September 15, 1944 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1975. She later married Edward Connall on October 24, 1981 at the First United Methodist Church in Galva and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2007. Survivors include her two children, Crystal Hand-Main and Kenneth (Deborah) Hand, two grandchildren, Sarah (Tim) Holley and Laura (Josh) Crumley, four great grandchildren; Audrey, James, Evan and Sloane, two step-children, William Connall and Ina (Gary) Pearsall, two step-grandchildren, William (Gretchen) Pearsall and Catherine (Adam) Delp and two step-great grandchildren, Theodore and Beatrice. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Verna had a love for dogs and enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was interested in anything that had to do with the Isle of Man.
