KEWANEE – Alan John Pianowski, 78, of Kewanee, died at 8:53 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the home of his daughter in Kewanee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 4 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Osceola Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
He was born September 1, 1943 in Mishawaka, IN, the son of Edward Clarence and Delores Frances (Mellin) Pianowski. He married Judith Ann Polansky on November 25, 1972 in Kewanee and she preceded him in death on July 18, 2017. Survivors include his four children; Denise Lee Thomason of Dayton, OH, Ted Alan Pianowski of Ohio, Charlette Irene Horsley of Knoxville, TN and Heidi Marie Parsons of Kewanee, eleven grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Paul Pianowski in infancy and a granddaughter.
Alan was a “Jack of All Trades”, having worked as a farmer, a welder at Hyster’s and a truck driver for various places. He enjoyed toy tractors, cats, gardening, trucks and helping out the local farmers.
