KEWANEE - Alexander Michael "Alex" Chaidez-Ravelingeen, 16, of Kewanee, died at 9:12 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA as a result of a boating accident.
A public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., Thursday, June 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Due to the restrictions of COVID-19 face coverings are required. Private funeral services will be held at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to the family.
He was born October 8, 2003 in Kewanee, the son of Jose Chaidez Jr. and Adrienne Ravelingeen. Survivors include his parents of Kewanee, his five sisters; Destiny Chaidez, Nina (Sam) Wagner and Autumn, Isabelle and Sofia Ravelingeen, his grandmothers, Maria Chaidez and Barb Ravelingeen, his grandfather, Godfried Ravelingeen two aunts, Hilda Rosas and Erin Ravelingeen and two uncles, Fidel Chaidez and Nicholas Ravelingeen. He was preceded in by his grandmother, Mellody Ravelingeen and grandfather, Jose Chaidez Sr.
Alex just recently finished his sophomore year at Kewanee High School. He was an avid Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bulls fan, a wonderful son and an all-around good person.
