Betty J. DeBlieck

KEWANEE – Betty Joan (Ridings) DeBlieck, 93, of Kewanee, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the Kewanee Care Home. She was born to Thelma (Damon) and William Ridings at her grandparents' home in Bradford, IL July 1,1928.

She married Lawrence (Larry) DeBlieck August 9,1947. He preceded her in death November 6,1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Ridings, and two sisters, Margaret Robinson and Joyce Lindsey.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Carol (Steve) Bender, Youngsville, NC and Janice Forsythe, Kewanee, IL and one son, Randall DeBlieck, Kewanee, IL, five grandchildren, Scott Bender, Creedmoor, NC, Chuck (Julie) Forsythe, Kewanee, IL, Chad (Amanda) Forsythe, Colorado Springs, CO, Mark (Tara) DeBlieck, Kewanee, IL and Mallery DeBlieck, Weatherford, TX, and 11 great grandchildren.

Betty loved to bake and make Christmas cookies, fudge, and divinity to share with family and friends. Her family was the center of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 5 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
