Betty H. Logsdon

KEWANEE – Betty H. Logsdon, 87, of Kewanee, formerly of Neponset, died at 3:51 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in the emergency room at Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo.

Cremation will be accorded and graveside services and inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17 at Floral Hill Cemetery in Neponset with Rev. Terry Lancaster officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Neponset Community Library or to the American Heart Association. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 6, 1935 in Neponset, the daughter of Marvin and Dorothy Kuster. She married James R. Logsdon on September 5, 1954 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2005. Survivors include her children; Diana (Bill) Noe of Gallup, NM, Kevin (Martha) Logsdon of Bradford, Brian (Tammy) Logsdon of Neponset and Scott (Nadine) Logsdon of Kewanee, her brother, Terry (Rita) Kuster of Neponset, three grandchildren; Kristopher Logsdon (Janice), RaeAnn Hollis (Jace) and Adrianan Hollis (Tyler) and four step-grandchildren; Holly, Benjamin and Jacob (Monica) Kida and David Owens. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Clarice Vidal, a brother, Richard Kuster and her daughter, Teresa Rae Hollis.

Betty graduated from Neponset High School and attended Black Hawk East College. She had cleaned houses and also worked at Wal-Mart in Kewanee. She was a member of the Neponset United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and flowers, canning fruits and vegetables, bird watching, doing puzzles, fishing, snowmobiling and traveling with her family.
