KEWANEE - Betty I. Packee, 94, of Kewanee, died at 2:42 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 31 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor John Reside officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Betty Packee Memorial Fund.
She was born September 1, 1927 in Kewanee, the daughter of Charles and Irene (Talbot) Widger. She married Max C. Packee on December 12, 1968 in Princeton. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael Lashbrook, and a granddaughter. She is survived by her children, Richard (Barb) Lashbrook of Kewanee, Janice (Nolan) Drawyer of Kewanee, Connie (Bobby) Ince of Kewanee, Bonnie (Larry) Calef of Galva, Linda (John) Tiemann of Farmington, MO, Annette (Marty) Medley, of Kewanee and Jeanette (Dennis “Doc”) Gerleman, of Kewanee, fifteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Armstrong of Geneseo and a half-brother, John Brose of Kewanee.
She had worked as a sewer at Boss Manufacturing and as a cook at Midland Country Club. She enjoyed reading and her coffee from McDonald’s. Her greatest joy was her children and her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
