Bradley "Brad" Eagle Obituary

WILLIAMSFIELD - Bradley Neil Eagle, 71, of Williamsfield, passed away at 1:37 p.m., Thursday June 24, 2021 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 29 at the church where masonic rites will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the Altona Masonic Lodge. Burial will be at the Williamsfield Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Williamsfield American Legion. Memorials may be directed to the Altona Masonic Lodge, the Williamsfield American Legion or the Victoria Rod & Gun Club. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is handling arrangements.

Brad was born December 25, 1949 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, the son of Delbert and Lola (Carlson) Eagle. He married Melodie (Tucker) Kimler on June 7, 1980 in Altona. Together they raised four daughters, Lisa (Eagle) Bohannan of Elmore, Tracie (Kimler) Peterson (Mike Alford) and Annette (Charlie) Sams, both of Williamsfield and Melisa Eagle of East Galesburg, his grandchildren, Jeremy (Molly) Eagle, Lacy, Calvin and Lorin Peterson,  James, Tucker and Lewis Sams  and Ava Alford, all of Williamsfield, Rachel Bohannan of Lincoln, Alivia Alford of Bartonville and Michael Alford, stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army, and four great grandsons with a great granddaughter on the way.

He is also survived by his mother, Lola (Wayne) Mohr of Galesburg, his mother-in-law, Beverly “Bev” Tucker of Williamsfield, his sister Cheryl (Dan) Koeritz of Wheaton, IL, his brother, Richard “Rick” (Ruth) Eagle of Abingdon, his sister-in-law and Diana Biddle and brother-in-law, William “Bill” (Gale) Tucker, all of Williamsfield. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Kay Eagle, his father-in-law, Samuel “Sam” Tucker, his grandparents, Marvin and Viola Eagle and Wesley and Verla Carlson.

Brad was a graduate of R.O.V.A. High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army from August of 1969 to August of 1971 and served in Vietnam from January of 1970 to December of 1970. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and an Air Medal. He was employed at Gale Products until they closed in 1983. He worked for his friend, Carl Swanson at Swanson Electric until going to work for the City of Galesburg, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending quality time with family and friends, especially at Victoria Rod & Gun Club. He and Mel also enjoyed traveling, particularly out West.
