Brandon L. Swearingen, 46, of Morrison, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at his home.
He was born June 25, 1979 in Kewanee the son of Shannon and Susan (Moore) Swearingen. He married Jody Doehler on February 14, 2012. Survivors include his wife of Morrison, his mother of Sheffield, his father of Erie, his son, Caleb Swearingen of Kewanee, his daughter, Jaylynn Swearingen of Morrison, a stepson, Dominic Doehler of Bloomington, brother, Matt (Jamie) Swearingen of Sheffield, sister, Hayley Swearingen and her significant other, Trent, grandmother, Virginia Moore and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gilbert Moore, uncles, Gary Moore and Joe Swearingen and aunt, Judy Pletkovich.
Brandon graduated from Neponset High School and immediately joined an electrician apprenticeship. He worked as an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was a hard worker and a great father who cherished his family. Brandon was an avid Chicago Bears and Fighting Illini fan who thoroughly enjoyed traveling with his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor John Reside officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family.
