Bruce Bryner

GALVA - Bruce Bryner, 86, of Galva, passed away at 9:25 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at the Galesburg Park View Seventh-Day Adventist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow the services at the church. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is assisting the family with arrangements..

He was born on April 7, 1938 in Kewanee, the son of Melvin and Mildred (Ray) Bryner. He married Margaret M. Hasbrook in 1960 in Kewanee. She survives as do his children, Sondra (DeVon) Laursen of Clearlake, WI, Judi (Patrick) Hill of Galva and Jason (Elizabeth) Bryner of Cleveland, TN, nine grandchildren, Andrea, Matthew and Emilie Sanudo, Bryce Hill, Shay Renner, Kyrsten Hill and Kaitlyn, Jacob and Griffin Bryner, fourteen great grandchildren with one on the way and one great-great grandchild with one on the way, two brothers, Terry (Linda) Bryner and Kirk Bryner, both of Kewanee and three sisters, Kay (Bill) Hampton of Farmington, IL, Kathy (Les) Anderson of Kewanee and Deanna (Rich) Jones of Naples, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phil.

Bruce graduated from Hylandale Academy in Wisconsin. He had worked as a design engineer for Caterpillar. In addition to living in the Galva and Kewanee areas, he had also lived in Oregon and Florida. He was a member of the Galesburg Park View Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, traveling, photography and playing guitar. As well as entertaining friends and family.
