Carl E. Rice

Carl E. Rice, 78, of Normal, IL, passed away on November 9, 2025, at the Loft in Normal, IL.

Before his death, Carl had been retired for over 20 years from Verizon (formerly GTE) and had been living in the Ironwood subdivision in Normal. In his free time, Carl was an avid golfer and in his earlier years had the opportunity to travel across the country with his friend Ken Fleer to play at some of the top courses in the country. He even scored a hole-in-one at the Illinois State golf course! Along with golf, Carl enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, gardening and supporting his favorite sports teams which included the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Carl is survived by his son Michael who lives in Bloomington and his sister Valerie who lives in Chicago.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 14 at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield, IL. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed in his name to Rux Funeral Homes at 103 E. Gale Street, Williamsfield, IL 61489.
