Carol L. Hardy

GALVA – Carol L. Hardy, 77, of Galva, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Galva Food Pantry.

She was born October 12, 1945 in Kewanee, the daughter of Donald and Leona (Lindbloom) Kermeen. She married Gordon Hardy on February 16, 1964 in Wyoming, IL and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1994. Survivors include her four children; Jim (Shawn) Hardy, Keri (Brian) Moehring and Diana (Mike) DeSmit, all of Galva and Scott (Terri) Hardy of Muscatine, IA, fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings; Shirley, Donna, Donald, Benjamin, David, Stephen and Thomas.

Carol graduated from Galva High School. She had worked for Dixline Corporation and John H. Best and Son. In her early years she had waitressed at various restaurants in the area. She was a volunteer for the Galva Ambulance Department and for the Galva Food Pantry and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping and going to auctions and thrift stores, but most of all, she especially enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and their time spent together.
