Carol M. Moore

NEPONSET – Carol Marie Moore, 83, of Neponset, died at 2:33 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, December 20 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the Friends of the Animals. The funeral home will maintain compliance with COVID regulations and requires that all guests practice social distancing and wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.

She was born May 22, 1938 in rural Neponset, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Blair) Robinson. She married Russell W. Moore on April 14, 1957 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1995. Survivors include her three children; Marty Moore of Kewanee, Julie (David) Shaver of Galesburg and H. Diane Moore of St. Charles, IL, three sisters: Ruth (Robert) Hayward of Princeton, Edith (John) Terwilliger of Charleston, IL and H. Elaine (Peter) Bailey of Downers Grove, IL, her two grandchildren, Doreen Hill of Galesburg and Jessica (David) Krause of Willowbrook, IL, five great grandchildren; Ashley and Nathan Rouland and Emilia, Elisa and Evelyn Krause, her great-great granddaughter, Leilani DeGracia and her beloved dog, Ollie. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers in infancy.

Carol graduated from Wethersfield High School. She had worked as a respiratory therapist at Kewanee Hospital and as a travel agent for K-Town and Novak’s Travel Agencies. She was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Church UCC in Kewanee. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who loved quilting, watching the Golden Girls, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and especially spending time with her family.
