KEWANEE – Carol L. Mowbray, 83, loving wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at Kewanee Care Nursing Home on Monday, August 24th, 2020.
Carol was born on April 7th, 1937, in Bradford, Illinois, the daughter of William and Edna (Peterson) Tumbleson. She married Paul Mowbray in 1954 in Slovactown, Arkansas. She graduated from Bradford High School. After raising her six children, she owned and operated a Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Kewanee for several years.
Those left to honor her memory are her six children, Marsha (Steve Carleson); Paula Mowbray; Kevin (Linda) Mowbray; Hal (Kate Mowbray); Christa (Mark) DeRycke; and Angela (Jeff) Resser; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandkids; and nine nieces and nephews.
Carol was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a very caring, loving and giving person who loved pulling practical jokes on her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and putting together big family meals. She was also active in the Altar and Rosary Society of her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her four siblings, Phyllis Tumbleson, Angela Wilson, Merill and William Tumbleson and her husband, Paul Mowbray.

A private memorial service will be held at Rux Funeral Home on September 25th.
