KEWANEE- Carol Ann T. Fornander, 72, of Kewanee, passed away at 1:45 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Kewanee Care Home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastors Mara Ahles-Iverson and Scott Baird will officiate. The service will also be live-streamed via the funeral home’s Facebook page. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson Foundation or to Zion Lutheran Church. The funeral home will monitor capacity limits to maintain compliance with COVID regulations. The funeral home requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
She was born December 15, 1948 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Orlin and Helen (Fragd) Strandberg. She married Mark Fornander on February 21, 1992. He survives as do three daughters, Holly (Greg) Murray, Connie (Rick) Pa and Lisa Fornander, two sons, Troy (Kaylee) Anderson and Carl (Jessica) Fornander, eleven grandchildren, Gabby, Greigh, Caitlyn, Owen, Aiden, Addison, Tessa, Teagan, Tenley, Taryn and Abraham and two sisters, Denise (Scott) Baird and Sharon (Rod) Cashman. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Brooks Anderson.
Carol attended Andover Elementary school and graduated from Orion High School. She worked at Royal Neighbors, stay at home mom, babysitter, and finally CVS from which she retired. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee. She enjoyed reading, walking, and spending time with her cat Sandy. She especially loved her family and was a devoted grandma.
