Carol M. "Sue" Titlow

KEWANEE - Carol M. “Sue” Titlow, 83, of Kewanee, passed away at 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. 

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Rev. Mark Graham officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. 

Sue was born December 5, 1938 in Ohio, IL, the daughter of Hubert F. and Juliana (Swain) Anderson. She married James D. Titlow on November 26, 1960 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2021. Survivors include two sons, James (Lisa) Titlow of Bloomington, IL and Daniel (Sarah) Titlow of Kewanee, a daughter, Amy (Jason) Lindbom of Lexington, IL, a sister, Terry (Willis) Smith of Dixon, IL, six grandchildren, Alex (Tiffany) Titlow of Mapleton, IL, Cameron Titlow, Dayton, OH, Andrew (Sydney) Titlow of Kewanee, Brock Titlow of Syracuse, NY and Chloe and Hadley Lindbom, both of Lexington, IL and three great grandsons; Everett, Dawson and Walker Titlow. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Freda Anderson, and one brother, Edward (Joan) Anderson of Ohio. 

Sue graduated from Ohio High School in 1957 and then from Sterling Beauty School. She was owner and operator of Sue’s Beauty Shop until 1996 and had also worked at Wethersfield School District as a playground supervisor and cafeteria cook until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee, The Eastern Star, and the Wethersfield Booster Club. 

Sue will always be recognized as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  She enjoyed her family, home improvements projects, flower gardening, cooking, and watching the Chicago White Sox. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Pramern Sriratana at the Carle Cancer Institute, Carle BroMenn Medical Center Oncology, Hospice, and her OSF Homecare Nurses for their care, compassion, and guidance during this difficult time. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wethersfield High School Athletic Department.
