Carole Anne Moats Obituary

KEWANEE – Carole Anne Moats, 74, of Kewanee, died at 3:15 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2020 at Royal Oaks Care Center in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to her family. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born August 22, 1945 in Kewanee, the daughter of Frederick and Francis Catherine (Wolfe) Thurwanger. Survivors include her three children; Harold James “Jim” (Sharon) Moats of Gastonia, NC, Carole Anne (Butch) Sexton of Cambridge and Catherine Alice Moats of Kewanee, her brothers, Bill and Tom Thurwanger, her sisters; Joy Young, Mary Bell, Mary Warrick, Pat Bent, Edith Graham, Teresa Pistole and Yvonne Decker. numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Connie and Rita and three brothers; Joe, John and Fred.

Carole graduated from Kewanee High School in 1963 and from Black Hawk East. She had worked in the accounting and medical fields until she became disabled. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed candy, drinking coffee, nature, crocheting, collecting wolves, traveling, playing Bingo, baking cookies and fishing and camping at Johnson’s Sauk Trail and Montgomery Bell State Parks.
