Carolyn R. Borg

KEWANEE - Carolyn R. Borg, 89, of Kewanee, died at 6:55 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo.

Cremation was accorded and graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 11 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee with Rev. Mara Ahles-Iverson officiating. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or to the Kewanee Public Library. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born November 27, 1931 in Kewanee, the daughter of Chester and Anna (Peterson) Roser. She married Theodore “Ted” Borg on February 27, 1955 in Kewanee. He survives as does her sister, Dorothy Roser. She was preceded in death by her parents and several relatives.

Carolyn graduated from Kewanee High School in 1949. She had worked as a legal secretary for over forty years and had worked for Gregg and Jim Young, Harper and Campbell Andrews and Chip Eastman and Tym Kerr. After retiring, she then worked 18 years at Shipe Senior Health Insurance Program as a counsellor and coordinator. She had also worked at Kewanee’s branch of Illinois Cancer Care, Kewanee Hospital and at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and had served on many church committees. She enjoyed reading and sewing and traveling in the states and abroad. Her most memorable trip with her husband was a camera safari in Kenya, Africa.
