KEWANEE- Charles L. Watkins, 76, of Kewanee, died peacefully at 1:02 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Cremation has been accorded and no services are planned at this time. Memorials may be directed to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born January 29, 1945 in Pekin, Illinois the son of William and Ivy (Bell) Watkins. He is survived by his significant other and sweetheart, Sherry Landergren, his sons, Shawn (Heather) Parker and William Watkins, his daughter, Jennifer Barber, and six grandchildren; Nathan, Skyler, Alexis, Parker, Summer, and Wiley. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

Charles attended school in Glasford. He served his country proudly in the Army. He had worked for 38 years as a truck driver and most recently worked at Digital Copy Systems in Peoria. Charles had a passion for camping, especially at the Allendale Conservation Club. He was a fan of NASCAR and loved to travel the country. Charles would go out of his way to help a stranger.
