Clifford and Marilyn Steward Obituary

Marilyn Ann (Ingle) Steward was born on December 6, 1932 in Kewanee, IL to Ora and Thalia Ingle and passed away on January 15, 2020. Clifford Eugene Steward was born on September 16, 1931 in Oneida, IL to Clifford and Myrtle (Murry) Steward and passed away on September 10, 2021.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Rux Funeral Home in Galva, IL. Followed by a reception at the Galva American Legion at 3:00 pm.

They are survived by their sons, Ronald (Barbara) and Steven Steward; two granddaughters, Katie (Greg) and Sarah (Rocky); eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Geri McLaughlin.  They are preceded in death by their parents; siblings; son, Eugene; and great-grandson Josiah.

Gene and Marilyn were teenage sweethearts.  They were married on June 3, 1950 and had three sons. Together they built a life of love, family, farming, toy shows and travel. After 31 years of farming south of Galva, they retired to Zephyrhills, FL where they were blessed to become grandparents and enjoy life with a family they loved! They enjoyed the adventures of travel and Marilyn greeted every stranger as an instant friend. Their hard work, dedication, enjoyment of retirement and the love they had for each other are an inspiration. Over the years, they took turns taking care of each other.  Neither of them complained but considered it an honor to be growing old together.

They are truly missed.  The love they had for us all will always be with us, and we look forward to being together with them again!
