Connie S. (Goodrich) Yocum

DELONG – Connie S. (Goodrich) Yocum, 72, of DeLong, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

She was born June 9, 1951 in Kewanee, the daughter of Walt and Lela (Woods) Goodrich. She married Gary “Yogi” Yocum on November 25, 1982 in Altona. During her life, Connie enjoyed fishing, writing letters, staying in contact with extended family and childhood friends, watching The Young and the Restless, listening to Guns N Roses, painting plaster craft pieces, hunting mushrooms and sending cards. Connie had previously worked at the Care Center of Abingdon, Good Samaritan, and the Friendly Café where Connie met Gary and later became engaged there.

Connie is survived by her husband, Gary, and their cat Babe, three sisters, a brother, three nieces, nine nephews and many other extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and a niece.

Cremation will be accorded and a committal service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 7 at Galva Cemetery. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.
