Dale English, 52, of Rock Island, passed away on June 25, 2026 surrounded by his family and friends leaving behind countless memories and stories that will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was happiest when he was outdoors with a fishing pole in hand, spending time on the water.
He had a lifelong passion for drag racing, motorcycles, hot rods, and he could often be found tinkering in the garage working on his latest project. His garage was more than a workspace—it was a place where friends gathered, stories were shared, and many memories were made.
Above all else, Dale was a father. He loved his children deeply and was beyond proud of the adults they became. The laughter he shared, and the memories he created with his friends and family will remain in all of their hearts forever.
Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy lives on in his children, the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
Dale is survived by his children Karli English and Cruz English, stepson, Phillip Esquer, his mother, Hilda English, sisters; Terre English, Martha Rivera and Amanda Lindhorst and brothers; Mario, Mark and Scott English. He was preceded in death and will be joining his father, Raymond English, his brothers; Curtis and David English and Joseph Medina, as well as his brother and best friend, Michael English in heaven. Dale also leaves behind Michael Neff, Nick English and Angela Neff who he cherished deeply, as well as many other nephews and nieces who were so very special to him that loved him dearly.
He swapped his leather suit for a set of wings, but we all know he is still twisting the throttle up there.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:45 a.m., Tuesday, June 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee with Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck officiating. Memorials may be directed to his family.
