Dale Alan McNaught

LA FAYETTE – Dale Alan McNaught, 74, of La Fayette, died at 10:49 p.m., Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Angie Fleming will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. The funeral home will monitor capacity limits to maintain compliance with COVID regulations. The funeral home requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.

He was born January 2, 1946 at home in Truro Township, Williamsfield, IL, the son of Alvah S. and Laura Jean (Leng) McNaught. Survivors include his children; Tammy (Ed) Main of La Fayette, Timmy (Becky) McNaught of Mahomet, IL, Tiffany (Jon) Woods of Toulon and Alvah J. McNaught of La Fayette, his grandchildren; Brittany (Ryan) Ketterling of Belgrade, MT, Kasey Main of Toulon, Julia, Laura and Annika McNaught, all of Mahomet, IL and Novalee Hoffmann of Toulon, his siblings; Jim (Ruth Ann) McNaught of Victoria, Dolores McNaught of Atkinson, Mary Jane LaFollette of Williamsfield, Betty McNaught and Bonny McNaught Engelmeyer, both of Galesburg and Margie McNaught of Peoria and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Fuller.

Dale had worked as a dragline operator for various coalmines including; Midland Coal Company, Captain Mine, Horse Creek Mine, Arch of Illinois, Inc. and Arch of West Virginia, Inc. He also worked for Cain & Reynolds Excavating and Mainland Home Improvement. He was a collector of many things and enjoyed tinkering on small engines and watching NASCAR. He relished his time hanging out with neighbors and friends. Dale was also close to his siblings and was very proud of his children and family.
