Daniel Empson II Obituary

GALVA – Daniel John Empson II, 54, of Galva, died Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home.

Cremation will be accorded and graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16 at Galva Cemetery with Rev. Martin Gutzmer officiating. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 10, 1967 in Kewanee, the son of Daniel John and Krisann Kathrine (Kelly) Empson I.  Survivors include his mother, Krisann K. Smith of Galva, his father, Daniel Empson of Altona, his children; Shanlin (Mike)  T H Fujimoto of Maui, Alexandra Empson of Peoria and Abbigail Empson of Princeville, five grandchildren; Dagan, Dalus, Dante & Sherrie Fujimoto and Evelynn Fujimoto, a half-sister, Thali Empson (Abraham Garcia) & her children, Ailani Loretta & Alonzo Daniel of Kewanee, four step-sisters, Amy (Brian) Groeper of Brimfield, Sheila Smith of Peoria and Andrea and Autumn Peach; Great Aunt, Marilyn Kelly of Galva, Aunt Kay Palmer of Cambridge, Aunts; Amy Empson of Maui & Kelly Empson and Teresa (Keith) Fell of Oneida and Uncle Andrew Empson of Long Beach, CA. A special friend for several years, Tara Petrowski of Green River and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Burton & Eleanor Empson, maternal grandparents, Russell T. & Ruth Kelly, a step-grandmother, Shirley Kelly, two uncles, Casey & James Empson, two aunts, Rosemary Empson & Jane Nelson, his step-father, Eddy Smith and his beloved dog, Milo.

Daniel attended Cambridge schools and graduated from high school in Maui and had also attended Carl Sandburg College. He was a truck driver for Hueneman Farms in Garner, IA and had also drove a truck for various other places including River Valley Cooperative. He had also worked as an EMT for the Stark County Ambulance Service. In his early years, he was a member of the Galva Odd Fellows Lodge. He enjoyed working on and refurbishing computers. He enjoyed reading and learning about Middle East History, Biblical Prophecy, and other world religions.  He trained & entered bodybuilding competitions, winning 1st place in his age group in 2016. He was always a hard worker. He loved his daughters and grandchildren even if he was unable to show it while alive.
