KEWANEE- Darryl L Currier, 65, of rural Galva, died at 4:47 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Kevin Thurston officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
He was born on January 21, 1956 in Kewanee, the son of Grady and Joan (Webber) Currier. He married Sherry Thurston on April 10, 1976 in Kewanee. She survives as well as his mother, Joan Currier of Kewanee, his children, Eric (Miles Agatha) Currier of Verona, WI., Jason (Kimberly Heene) Currier of Kewanee and Nichelle (Jamie) Hess of Toulon, nine grandchildren, Aidan, Rory, Dani Jo, Grady, Remi, Garette, Owen, Ethan and Evie, two sisters, Tamara Currier and Lisa Modro, both of Kewanee a nephew, Justin (Jennifer) Modro and two great nephews, Jaxson and Jameson. He is also survived by many aunts and an uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws and mother-in-law and father-in-law, (Joyce and Dean Thurston.) He was preceded in death by his father.
Darryl graduated from Kewanee High School in 1974 and had attended Western Illinois University. He currently had been working at Martin-Sullivan. He was a member of Community of Christ Church and he enjoyed his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
