David L. Brown

WILLIAMSFIELD – David L. Brown, 66, of Williamsfield, died at 4:29 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2024 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born October 31, 1957 in Galesburg, the son of Arlis and Cheryl (Mahar) Brown. He married Sally J. Sexton on July 11, 1981. Survivors include his wife of Williamsfield, two sons, Douglas Brown (Rexanna Munson) of Monmouth and Alan (Tierney) Brown of Williamsfield, a brother, Martin (Chris) Brown of Williamsfield, two sisters, Gretchen Brown of Indiana and Tamara (Gary) Smith of Oak Run, five grandchildren; Josh Brown, Becca Brown, Emma Johnson, Victoria Brown and Ozzie Kimler and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dale.

David graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1975. He had worked as a coal miner at Midland Coal Company and had also worked at various factories. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying gardening, hunting and fishing.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m., Friday, September 27 at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family.
