David L. Coné

KEWANEE – David L. Coné, 63, of Kewanee, died at 9:50 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at Royal Oaks Care Center in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 10 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Visitation Catholic School. The family requests that casual attire be worn for the services.

He was born February 1, 1958 in Kewanee, the son of Leo F. and Jane (Mattingly) Coné. Survivors include his mother of Kewanee, four brothers; Timothy (Nikki) Coné of Galva, Robert Coné and Jay Coné (Shannon Webster), both of Kewanee and Paul (Misty) Coné of Houston, TX, his two sisters, Marcia Coné of East Greenwich, RI and Pamela (Brett) Dynes of Kewanee, an uncle, Bill (Vicki) Mattingly, several nieces and nephews and his former brother-in-law, Ron Swift. He was preceded in death by his father.

David graduated from Kewanee High school in 1976 and had worked as a laborer through Abilities Plus in Kewanee. He was a big-hearted individual who was loved by many and never knew a stranger. He especially loved his family and was known to enjoy a cigarette and a cold beer.
