David G. Davis

KEWANEE – David Gene Davis, 78, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Toulon Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1204 E. 10th St. in Kewanee. He was born October 14, 1944 in Moline, the son of Lavell and Mary (Schwarz) Davis. Dave married Mary Jo Duncan on July 16,1965 in Peoria and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2004. He later Carol Ann Ackerson on March 4, 2006 in Peoria and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2018. Survivors include his siblings; Edward Davis of Creve Coeur, IL, Regina Stanley of Roseburg, OR, Kathy (Clayton) Murrell of Buffalo, MO, Evelyn Legette of Walterboro, SC, Joseph (Gloria) Davis and Mary Wainwright, both of Peoria, IL, Ronnie Davis of Lewistown, IL and Stephen (Linda) Davis of Lil America and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Robert, Dewayne and Randy.

David had served his country in the U.S. Navy. He had owned and operated a floor cleaning business until his retirement. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kewanee.
