David L. Murphy

PEORIA - David Lee Murphy, 39, of Peoria, died at 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born August 12, 1985 in Killeen, TX, the son of Robert and Denice (Dailey) Murphy Jr. He married Miranda Lobberecht on April 30, 2011. She survives as well as a son, Alexander Lobberecht, three daughters, Bailee, Alleigh and Carmen Murphy, a brother, Robert (Jasmine) Murphy, two sisters, Crystal (Nicholas) Trobaugh and Marjorie (Brandon) Daniel, nephews; Eric, Crystabill, Mason, Hay Hay Hay, Brodog, RJ and Henry and his nieces; Daniboy, Alexass, Little Asshole, Waaa Waaa, Doodoo, Rylee and Madisyn. He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents and a cousin, J.R.

David was a forklift operator at Great Dane in Kewanee. He enjoyed his motorcycle, camping, joke telling and Christmas, but he especially cherished his family and loved his children, and they considered him to be the “Best Dad in the World.”

Cremation will be accorded and a visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Al Harmon officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow. The family would appreciate it if you wore Christmas attire to the services. Memorials may be directed to his family for a memorial to be established.
