Obituary
KEWANEE – David J. McLaurin Sr., 41, of Kewanee, died Thursday, June 16, 2022 at his home.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of David’s life will be held on Friday, July 8 at Cerno's Bar & Grill from 5:00 p.m. until ? Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
He was born December 10, 1980 in Kewanee, the son of Terry and Susan (Thompson) Moore. Survivors include his mother of Kewanee, his four children; Aaliyah McLaurin of Peoria, David McLaurin Jr. of Kewanee, Ciara McLaurin of Colorado and Zachary McLaurin of Kewanee, his siblings, Katheryn “Kat” McLaurin (Amanda Calam) of Kewanee and Andrew McLaurin of Florida, grandson, T.J. and his special friend, Dave Vereecke. He is also survived by Audrey McLaurin the mother of Aaliyah and David Jr. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry, grandparents, Charles (Roberta) Thompson and Nancy (Howard) Moore and two brothers, Tracey Gillmer and Chris Thompson.
David had done factory work, had been a cook at Cerno’s Bar and Grill and was currently the kitchen manager at Timeout Pub and Grub in Kewanee. He was an outdoorsman who loved animals, four-wheeling, fishing, country music, cooking and cookouts. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
