Deanne R. "Dee" (Workheiser) Hamrick

KEWANEE – Deanne R. “Dee” (Workheiser) Hamrick, 57, of Kewanee, died at 9:37 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Rev. Martin Gutzmer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

She was born October 29, 1965 in Kewanee, the daughter of Edward Workheiser and Carol (Booker) Workheiser Tabor. She married Walter “Butch” Hamrick on May 20, 1995 in Kewanee. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, her mother of Kewanee, her daughters, Ashley (Dennis) Williams and Andrea Boggs (Matthew Hill), both of Kewanee, her siblings, Mike (Chris) Workheiser of Kewanee and Amy (Scott) Dickey of East Moline, five grandchildren; Seth, Riley and Lillian McClimans and Leslie and Joseph Hill, a niece and nephew, Amanda Simmons and Mikie Workheiser, both of Kewanee and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister Kelley in infancy.

Dee graduated from Kewanee High School in 1983. She had worked at McDonalds but most recently as a homemaker taking care of her beloved grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she thoroughly enjoyed time spent with them. She loved family events especially Christmas and Halloween. She also enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and bowling.
