Della R. Imes

PROPHETSTOWN - Della R. Imes, 79, of Prophetstown, formerly of Kewanee, died at 8:46 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, IA.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials can be directed to the Della Imes Memorial Fund.

She was born June 30, 1943 in Alton, IL, the daughter of James Arthur and Reba Mae (Driskill) Hastings. She had married Hobart Rohrig. They divorced and then she had married Donald Imes on December 24, 1971 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Mike) Mannon of Geneseo and Reba (Emmett) Puckett of Annawan, four grandchildren, several step grandchildren, several great grandchildren and her siblings, Bill, Bud, Inez and Lillie. She also helped raise a step-daughter and five step-sons.

Della had worked as an in-home care provider in Kewanee for a number of years. She also worked in various nursing homes. She was a care provider for many in the Prophetstown area providing care and help to many in need of assistance. She was an avid baker but especially loved her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
